Is Love All That Really Matters?

The recent shooting in Florida gave me so much sadness and I cried every day I watch the news, the sadness of losing one’s child is the greatest sadness there is.  I have 2 kids myself and I will never want them to go to school and never come back home. I didn't just cry for the senseless killing I also shed tears of joy when I saw the way the community came together to support one another, to me that's love. It was a sad day but it was amazing to see people of different color, beliefs, religion come together in unity to help one another grief. This is not the first time I've witnessed this show of love after a tragedy, but every time it happens I am in tears for the most part of the day. It is just sad that it takes a tragedy to see so much love and support in the community.

Love makes life better
When we experience love, we blossom

This is February and it is the month of love, it is the time most people believe should be spent with their spouse, fiance(e) or girlfriend which is ok. Celebrating Valentine is not my thing, but I do believe it is a time better spent with loved ones or people with no one to show them love. "Did I offer peace today? Did I bring a smile to someone's face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions. I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits, here in this world and the life to come." - Henri Nouwen. What if we all love each other? Don't you think the world will be a better place? If we all love one another despite the difference in color or religion or beliefs. What if we practice the 'live and let's live' rule. How about we learn to embrace our diversity, see it as a strength and not let it tear us apart.

Everyone is capable of unconditional love
Unconditional love is when you love for no reason, we are all capable of this kind of love.

When there is love, it will be hard to think of hurting one another, because you love everyone around you and care about how they feel. No need to steal from others because when you love someone you ask for it and when they love you too they will give you unconditionally. With love, there is absolutely no need to kill or take a life of someone in your community, remember if love goes both ways there is no need for jealousy or envy or revenge. Love is strong and deep, it is what can bring everyone together without consequences.

Spread love everywhere you go

Spread love not hate, the minute you start to see others like you see yourself. The instant you begin to care about how your neighbors are doing, The moment you are concerned if kids of other parents are doing well in school, these are the moments that you experience real love. “ I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts. That hope always triumphs over experience. That laughter is the only cure for grief. And I believe that love is stronger than death.”-  Robert Fulghum

Bring positive energy and smile more
Spread positive energy to your neighbors, then extend it to your community.

Change your thoughts and it will change your life. Think of others as you think about yourself, the world is lonely when you have no one to love or have no one that loves you. Let’s change the world together one step at a time, show love to your neighbors then spread it to your community. Together we can make the world a better place, remember 'Love is all that matters'.

  6. Such an amazing post -- I felt the same way when watching the news recently. I cried for the senseless murder of all those innocent souls, but also happy tears for the way that the community pulled together to support with all the love they could offer.
